Voicemail Setup

Initial One-Time Setup

  • Log into your mailbox by pressing the “Check Voicemail” button, or press Feature 981.
  • The first time you use your voice mailbox, you must change the default password.
    • Default password is “0000”. Change this to a password of your choice.
    • Passwords can be from 4 to 8 digits long and cannot start with a zero.
  • Next, you must record your name in the company directory.
    • This is not the greeting message that callers will hear when they reach your mailbox. This is just your name, spoken in your voice.
  • Finally, you can record your greeting message.
    • Two greeting messages can be recorded, a primary and an alternate message. We will only use the primary greeting.
    • Your greeting could include “press 0 to return to the receptionist”.
    • You can change your greeting as often as you like. Some people change it daily.

Daily Voicemail Use

  • Answer a call and transfer the caller to someone’s voicemail:
    • If the caller wants to leave a message, press the “Transfer To Voicemail” button, or Feature 986.
    • Enter the mailbox #.
    • The caller is now hearing the greeting message.
  • Leave a message from your office phone to someone’s voicemail:
    • Press the “Leave Message” button, or Feature 980.
    • Enter the mailbox #.
    • Follow the prompts on the display.
    • While the greeting is playing, you can press # to skip the greeting and leave your message immediately.
  • Change your greeting:
    • Login to your mailbox (Feature 981). Press the ADMIN button below the display.
    • Press the GREET button, then the REC (for Record), then PRIME (for Primary).
    • Follow the prompts on the display.
    • You can change your greeting as often as you like.
  • Check your messages from your phone:
    • Login to your mailbox by pressing the “Check Voicemail” button, or Feature 981.
    • Enter your password. Press “OK” or press the # key (to the right of the zero). Follow the display prompts.
  • Check your messages from another phone in the office:
    • Login to your mailbox by pressing the “Check Voicemail” button, or Feature 981.
    • Press the button below the display for OTH (other).
    • Enter your mailbox number and password as one long number. Press OK”.
  • Check your messages from outside the office:
    • Call your direct number. When you hear your greeting, press * * (2 stars).
    • This will prompt you for your login and password. Enter them as one long number. Then press #.
